Favourite moments you can have with your dog.
We all have our favourite moments. Of course, dog owners love their furry friends all day long. But if you’re being honest, are there certain times in the day that rank above others when it comes to your dog responsibilities.
My favorite day and time with my dog Kiki are Saturday mornings. Saturday is my day to get up with the dog and I’ve established a “me-dog” time so we inevitably end up playing together, doing walks, jogging, and other fun things before my husband gets up and weekend chores start.
I used to love calm of the house when it was just me and my husband until we brought Kiki home. The house became warm. Now we have become a big family and I have to create time for everyone, so after the frantic rush in the mornings daily, I have an hour or so to collect my thoughts and plans for the day on how Kiki will fit in my daily routine.
That why I dedicated Saturday morning for her so that she is not left out. She is young, adorable, funny, demanding, and active. I am trying to recognize the good moments as they are several. The fun, happy, loving, fleeting moments that make up my dog magical moments are outlined below.
Dinner at home with the whole family, my husband (Ken) and dog (Kiki) is special unto itself. We make it together and have theme nights to spice things up, with different dry and wet food for Kiki we can have chicken night, beef night, salmon night as she enjoys her dinner we also enjoy ours. Turn your kitchen into a sushi bar or a sea food joint once a week and bond with your family. When all of you are excited and having fun, even your conversation is energized and there is a lot of verbal and non-verbal sharing at the table.
Road trips are good for your dog. Driving our dog for a short distance to the neighborhood park or a friend’s house are actually priceless moments. Your dog can enjoy change of scenery and the breath of fresh air as you ride in the country side and have a laugh together.
Other furry friends love shopping and going to the grocery to help you out. You can get a dog stroller that accommodates both your pooch and your grocery. We ladies love shopping and you could have rub some of that to your pooch who might love good things like fashionable dog coats and bling making your shopping spree entertaining. This is amazing as you will forever have a shopping buddy.
The next time you need to take your dog somewhere nearby, try to get there on foot. Walking with your dog is a great way to slow down the pace of your lives and to have more unscripted moments with them. Get a comfortable leash and have your daily walks together. It strengthen your bond and your dog gets to do muscles exercises which is good for its health. Even when you are invited to a family barbecue take your furry friend along and let her play with the other dog. As you have fun you will enjoy as she interacts socially also.
Some dog games have somewhat redeeming happy reality, because they mimic real-world activities such as game of fetch, tug of war, bubble blowing, hide and seek give your dog physical and mental stimulation and enough exercises. This will be good for his health as obese will not affect him. All these favourite moments are priceless and are made with a lot of love and care not the normal routine. Spice up your dog life and make your relationship a thing admired and cherished by your family members and friends.
My dog is a good swimmer and loves swimming so I make sure on our canoeing and fishing expedition we take her and by the time we get home she is so happy, rejuvenated and ready for another trip. She swims a lot, barks and plays a lot.
A quiet day at home can be relaxing and memorable with your pooch, you can choose a day where you watch TV together or read her a story, cuddle together, brush her coat or just a simple pat. Treat her like a queen or king, groom her and pamper her and she will love you. You will see her wriggling her tail or just licking you as a thank you for the good relaxing moment.
The list cannot be exhausted but you can share with us you’re treasured moments and we share with other dog lovers.
